  • Princess: The Night Visitor

One night when I was sleeping my sister said to me, ?wake up! wake up!? She?s was like, ?alright don?t be scared.? I thought something had happened and when I turned around laying right next to me was a beautiful gray kitten named Princess. I fell in love with her and so did my sister. My uncle saw how much we loved Princess and how much she loved us so he decided to let us keep her.

  • Dottie: Itty Bitty Pretty One

Dottie joined my 2 cats as a tiny, precious Siamese mix kitten 4 1/2 years ago. She was dwarfed compared to the other kittens at the shelter. The staff even voiced relief at her adoption since she was so little & young. Limp as a rag doll when picked up, she probably would have been great with children. From the beginning & throughout the years she has been a unique lap cat, settling on my lap, she purrs & kneads with her front paws.

She spends each night sleeping in front of my tummy in the curve of my bent knees. She's about the sweetest cat I've had. I loved Dot-Dot so much. She was placed in a new home recently (thru our local Humane Society). She now warms another lap, bed & heart without any competition. I miss her terribly, but know that letting her go to her new WONDERFUL family was my ultimate gift of love. I miss you Dottie, my precious & pray you will have a long healthy life full of warm laps.

  • Cristal: All Wet

One day I was ready to take a bath. But I told my mom to wait until the TV show was done. She said ok. Then Cristal, my 1st cat, appeared to go into the bathroom where the tub was FILLED up. After the TV show was over Cristal jumped on me all wet. Go Figure!

  • Baby: The perfect name

I have owned several cats through the years and Purina® brand Cat Food has always been their favorite. Living in a small town with only one supermarket, that closes at 9pm, I have occasionally run out of Purina® Cat Chow® brand Cat Food and the cats actually smell the other brand and walk away. I am okay with that because I know when they get hungry they will eat. I have learned from those incidents that they like Purina the best.

I have been buying Purina® brand Cat Food since 1995 when a cat jumped out from under the hood of a lady's vehicle, at the service station next door to my home, when an attendant went to check the oil. I put food out for the cat everyday. Soon he became my cat, with permission from the cat's owner of course. His name was Baby and I know why he kept coming back. I didn?t buy just any brand of food. I bought the best. Purina® Cat Chow® brand Cat Food. And I have happy cats.

  • Daisy: The One For Me

When I went to get my kitten in a shelter, some 4 or 5 years ago, I didn't know who to choose! There were so many cats that needed good homes. When I saw Daisy, she was with her 3 sisters. Normally, I would have gone for the youngest one but Daisy was the oldest. When the man there asked me if I wanted to take them out to see which one I liked I said, 'Yes please!' He lifted out Daisy first and when I held her, she started playing with the necklace I was wearing! I knew straight away that this was the cat for me!

  • Vanessa: The Church Going Calico

I was heading to church with my mother. When we got there my father came rushing up to us, "Honey, you?ve got to see this! I found two kittens.? My mom sighed and left to go and be a greeter at the door. "Come on," my dad said taking my hand. So we went to the church kitchen.

My dad told me they showed up at the church early this morning looking for food. He tried to get near them but they both hid behind the bushes. He pointed to where a scrawny Calico kitten and a fat black kitten with a broken tail were hiding. "Dad can I please hold the Calico?" I asked him. He nodded approvingly and gently got the Calico. She was very young and so skinny you could see every single bone in her body. Her ears and tail were bigger than her whole body. I looked at my dad and asked him if we could keep her. He sighed and said, "Well we have to ask your mother."

I took a deep breath and I went and told my mother about the cats. She immediately said, "We don't need a cat now." I refused to give up. Soon, my dad came and we told her about the female Calico. She sighed and said, "We can keep her." I cheered. My cat Vanessa is doing great. She is now two years old. She is very spoiled now. I am finally able to say she is mine. She sleeps on my bed with her little stuffed animal. I can't believe it was over two years since we got her. She is a very sweet cat. She gets in trouble a lot but I love her.

  • Gaviston & Gabrielle: Balinese Beauties

14 years ago, I picked up the most beautiful Balinese kittens. As you might know, Siamese cats are born cream color, or no points. Balinese cats are simply longhaired Siamese. Whatever people might think of Siamese as far as being demanding or less affectionate ? I disagree. Gaviston and Gabrielle, Gavin and Gaby for short, are loving, smart, and extremely beautiful. Then again, what else would a I say? When they were weaned, I started them on Purina® Kitten Chow® brand Kitten Food. As they matured I switched them to Purina® Cat Chow® brand Cat Food. That was 14 years ago. There were times when I ran out of cat food and substituted other brands for convenience. However that never was convenient because my cats wouldn?t eat anything but Purina® Cat Chow® brand Cat Food. Now no matter what flavor or brand, if it's not Purina® Cat Chow® brand Cat Food Complete Formula my cats will not attempt feeding. They are my pride and joy. If you saw them you would be in love too.

  • Oreo: One Smart Cookie

She's about a year old black and white tuxedo cat, that's why her name is Oreo Cookie. We got her from my brother?s friend. She's very smart. Once someone was trying to steal my son's truck. Oreo was running around meowing loudly and running to me and to the window. I got up, looked out the window, and saw a van had pulled up to the truck. Someone was hanging out the window so I chased him or her away. I would never have caught them if it weren?t for her. When I'm going to bake and the oven is on she runs to sniff it and meows loudly for everyone to hear. When she's locked in she will stand up to the doorknob and open the door to let herself out. When she's looking for me she says, ?momma.? She learned that word from my daughter. She loves to play but she doesn't like company at all. When she hears the doorbell ring she?ll take off.

We have 2 cats but she's the leader. Once I fell asleep as soon as I got home. When the bowl was empty and they got hungry she went to the food bag and pulled it down tried to chew through it but couldn't so she brought it to me and woke me up. She is such a blessing to us all and we love having her around. She?s very well behaved and seems to understand us. When our other cat got lost I said to her, "Where's Smokey?" She sniffed around and took us to him. If we lose something we ask her where it is and she'll find it for us. She has the most amazing personality. Before her we never knew that a cat could be so smart and outgoing.

  • No Name: Lucy?s Look-a-like Kitten

My dad worked with a man who had found a black kitten and couldn?t keep it. So one day my dad arrived with the kitten, which they had named Lucy. When we were just about to get Lucy spayed she got pregnant. She had some difficulty delivering one of the kittens. My mom got scared so I helped but it was still having trouble breathing. My dad hurried home from work and helped the kitten survive. It?s still alive today and 3 weeks old but the coolest thing about the little black kitten is that it?s the only one that looks like its mama.

  • Mikie: She Wants Me Back

I went away for a few weeks and left my cat ? a 7-year-old orange tabby cat named Mikie ? with a friend. Mikie opened her screened-door and got out. I was beside myself. I wanted to fly home and look for Mikie. I did not have to worry. Mikie stayed in her yard overnight and a neighbor found him up on her front porch. She just wanted to get back to me.
