Description: Kiera is a cute, petite, stumpy bobtail Manx, who weighs only about 6 pounds. She was born around February 1, 2007 and was rescued from a shelter where the conditions were so horrible that the state shut it down! Kiera arrived terrified and thin, but quickly recovered. She's blossomed into a very sweet-natured and affectionate cat, who adores being petted. When given attention, Kiera paces back and forth emitting a HUGE purr for such a little lady!
Kiera also interacts well with all the other foster and resident cats at TCR, she's never met a cat she didn't like on first sight.
Kiera a chronic gum inflammation known as "gingivitis". This is not the same as "stomatitis". Her veterinarian believes that she can be kept comfortable with a little prednisolone every other day and that the condition should resolve itself over time with no surgery or frequent cleanings. In other words, Mother Nature will gradually cause Kiera to lose her teeth on her own. This condition does make her prone to drool a little bit when she purrs, but then again that may just be because she's so happy to be petted!
Caring for a cat that will eventually have no teeth is not difficult. Providing a diet of decent canned food usually does the trick. There is also an unexpected benefit - no worries about the expense of annual dental cleanings!
Kiera's sweet and affectionate nature would make her a welcome addition to just about any home with a quiet environment. In my opinion, very young children might prove too much for this gentle little lady
She is vaccinated, vetted, wormed, spayed, microchipped, and FeLV/FIV negative. Her adoption fee is $140.
