Lola is a 4 month old Great Dane/Lab mix. She came to MAGDRL with her mom Charity, after being dumped at a shelter in the middle of the night. Lola is a sweet, curious, playful puppy who is full of energy. She enjoys running around the back yard with her mom and foster brother. She loves to play tug of war with her rope toys and she thinks the Kong is the greatest invention ever. Lola is currently being crate trained and is doing very well. She will need obedience training and typical puppy training as she has had very little guidance and boundaries so far in her short life. Currently Lola gets along well with other dogs, she does however chase cats. Lola may not be a good fit with small children as she is a jumper and likes to play with her mouth and has not yet learned to be gentle. We will require a spay certificate from her adopters.
Update 5/19/08 – Lola is starting to grow some and her Dane is peeking out more in her appearance. She is a sweet puppy, but boy is she all puppy. She is eating well and loves playing with Alfred (the foster dog) in the back yard. She is learning basic obedience and is picking it up pretty well. She has also started getting over playing with her mouth as much. That is something we work on non-stop. All in all she is doing great. With parents visiting, she has shown she may be a great fit with an older couple who is great with dogs. Though I think Lola would be a great fit for anyone who is willing to work with her and who wants an active dog as I don't ever see her as being a couch potato.
