The Alpine Guinea Pig Shelter is a not for profit organisation who takes in neglected, abandonded, injured, ill and unwanted guinea pigs from private owners, and local pounds.
We provide them with vet care, food and water, shelter, company and lots of love. Once they recover we adopt the out to loving people.
We do not charge a fee to adopt our guinea pigs. This is to encourage people to take in one of ours as opposed to purchasing one from a pet shop or \'backyard breeder\'.
We will however graciously accept donations of pet hay, food, cages, time or money. Every cent goes directly into to looking after the guinea pigs. We use it to purchase medicine, vet care, food, new hutches, and to buy \'pigs from local pounds who would otherwise be euthanased.
