The Alberta Ferret Society, a non-profit organization, was formed in May 1997 to promote the health and well being of ferrets. Its goal are to educate ferret owners and those considering the ferret as a pet, to raise public awareness about these often misunderstood pets and to provide shelter, care and necessary rehabilitation for unwanted, abused and abandoned ferrets and finally, to find adoptive homes for them. To date we have had just under 600 ferrets placed in our care and the majority have been adopted into happy, healthy loving homes.
