Company Name:  Rescue for Life
Description:  Rescue for Life is a small animal no-kill rescue group operated out of Spruce Grove, Alberta. Cats and dogs are fostered by volunteers until their forever homes are found. While in foster care the animals receive full vet care. All animals adopted out by Rescue for Life are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed.

All foster and adoption homes are screened by Rescue for Life and the best match for both the animal(s) and the family is chosen.

An adoption fee covers a portion of the money put into the animals. Rescue for Life also has "Special Needs Cases" that require additional funds above and beyond a standard rescue.

Rescue for Life is involved in educating the general public about responsible pet ownership including the importance of spaying/neutering your pet(s).

Rescue for Life relies solely on volunteers and donations.

Fostering

Fostering an animal is providing a temporary home until his/her forever home is found. All of our animals are fostered until their permanent adoptions happened; none of our animals are euthanized.

While in foster care many of our animals will experience for their first time the true meaning of a family.

Rescue for Life provides all vet care, food, and toys while in foster care. In exchange, the foster family provides a loving environment for their foster until the animal can be adopted out.

Quarantine Homes

Quarantine homes are for animals that initially need to be separated from other animals and have limited contact with people. These animals will have some type of medical problem that will be need to be treated while separated. Treatment will often include applications of medicines and daily bathing.

A quarantine location can be a closed off room in a house, a garage, a barn, or some other space where the animal can be kept separated.

Quarantine periods will vary anywhere from a few days to several weeks. Therefore, if you can only volunteer for short periods of time providing a quarantine area may be the right choice for you.

Putting an animal into quarantine is often the first step of bringing in a rescue. Therefore, by providing a quarantine space you are performing one of the most important tasks for Rescue for Life. Many animals may not receive the chance of being brought in simply because a quarantine home was not available at the time.

Adopting

Adopting an animal from Rescue for Life must be a serious thought out decision. An adoption means that you are commiting to providing a loving permanent home for the rest of the animal's life. This will include providing nutrious food and treats, daily excercise, and medical care for the animal over the course of it's life.

An adoption fee covers a portion of the money put into the animals and assures us that a serious financial commitent is willing to be made.
