"El Pobre de Asis", is a bi-national non-profit animal rescue and welfare organization located in the coastal town of Puerto Peņasco, Sonora, Mexico. Our mission is (a) Enhance and improve our existing shelter for homeless cats and dogs with a variety of adequate and necessary facilities, including a small clinic, and adoption center. (b) Create a partnership with the local goverment officials to adopt state and federal ordnances regardings the treatment of animals. (c) Initiate and promote a spay/neuter assistance program with local and international volunteers veterinarians. (d) Start a humane education program in the public schools, to promote humane principles, prevent cruelty, and alleviate fear, pain, and suffering in animal.
