Founded by Italian activist Sara Turetta, who obtained in 2002 an agreement with city hall of Cernavoda (Constanta) and moved there to directly manage the shelter and the clinic. No stray dogs killed by local authorities, massive neuter and release program. 2600 animals neutered since then, 250 animals hosted in the shelter, over 400 rehomed in Italy, Switzerland, Holland and Sweden. The program has recently been extended to the nearby town of Medgidia. Cats and donkeys are also involved in the project, with the support of foreiugner organizations as ATRA (CH), The Donkey Sanctuary, Hundhjalpen (Sweden). The next goal: a mobile clinic to reach all the villages of the region and widen the neutering program.
