In the Netherlands the Dutch Canine Protection Society keeps two shelter homes for old dogs. Many dogs from rescue homes, for whom the chance of being adopted is minimal because of their age, have found a place here. The dogs live in one of te four livingrooms, together with at most seven other dogs. Each room has a outlet and the dogs are allowed to go to the playground fot at least twice a day. Although most dogs enjoy the place, we always try to find them a family, in which we succeed frequently. It is only taking more time to find a new owner for an eleven year old Labrador than for an eleven months old one.
