The Shelter is supported by the City of Sitka and the many citizens of Sitka who realize the importance of giving animals dignity while they await relocation to their new homes. We have over 30 volunteers that make this Shelter a loving and comfortable place to be during transition to new homes. All dogs and cats, puppies and kittens are spayed or neutered before they are placed in their new home. Two times a year the Sitka Animal Shelter offers a RabiesClinic/Dog wash where you can have your dog vaccinated for Rabies FREE when you purchase a city dog license.
