Dalmatian Rescue and Pets At Risk Rescue are feeling the affects of hurricane Katrina. With so many displaced pets, we are assisting by taking in pets from shelters in the Panhandle and previously from the South Fla. region's bout with the storm. Others are just simply running the streets looking for shelter. Some of the pets we are taking were once residents of shelters that now must find help elswhere due to limited space. Our rescue efforts will help make room for more pets coming in from the Gulf Coast. Some of these pets were left behind by their owners during evacuation and some may never know if their owners are dead or alive or even able to continue to care for them. Our organization is flying and driving all over the state and to Gulf Coast to retrieve these pets, vetting them and getting them into foster care. We are the only Dalmatian Rescue now in Fla. and are driving long distances and struggling with transportation costs and airfares. We are in great need of supplie
