The Society obtained a 501 (c3) tax exemption status in June 2000 and relies on community support and fund raising to fulfill its mission. Our mission is to: - Prevent and relieve suffering to and among animals; - Aid in the enforcement of all laws relating to the subject of cruelty to animals and the lawful protection thereof through education; - Carry on a program of teaching and education on the subject of cruelty to animals and responsible pet care; - Reduce the overpopulation of domestic animals in the area served by the Society through spay-neuter and vaccination programs; - Seek the return of lost animals to their rightful owners; - Obtain and maintain shelters for homeless or suffering animals.
