F.U.R.R.I. is a small animal welfare organization providing rescue and temporary shelter for stray, abused and/or neglected domestic cats in Manistee County, Michigan and surrounding communities to improve their quality of life, health, and happiness. We now specialize in rescue of bengals, chausies, savannahs, and ocicats. However, we will continue to take into rescue an occasional solid black, special needs, and/or feral cat when space allows.
Why we are unique:
FURRI offers a no-kill, cage-free environment to all cats in our care. This helps us to better assess individual cats in a home environment before they are adopted. It also gives them the opportunity for more exercise, socialization, and play during their stay with us.
We deliver or arrange transport of all adopted cats to their new home no matter how far away.
We also assist in coordinating relocation/rehoming of exotic felines through an extensive US network. In the future, we plan to open a sanctuary portion to our rescue for smaller captive-bred exotic feline species in need of permanent or temporary relocation.
Currently, we are a private rescue and working on obtaining 501c3 tax exempt status. Please consider adopting, donating, or volunteering today!
