Homeless Hounds has been serving East Central Minnesota for 14 years taking in and replacing unwanted, abused, unclaimed and neglected animals. Currently we provide an impound service to Mille Lacs county and the unclaimed dogs are adopted out through Homeless Hounds as opposed to euthanasia. All of our dogs are vaccinated and wormed and the majority are also spayed or neutered. We do have a spay /neuter agreement in our contract covering the dogs that are not spayed prior to adoption. We hold adoption days and also open houses in addition to showing dogs available for adoption by apointment at the shelter. The shelter dogs are rotated into the house from the kennel in order to make a better assesment of temperament and ability to coexsist with children and other animals. We usually have around 25 dogs at a time that are looking for homes in which to spend the rest of their lives.
