Our shelter was informally organized in 1972 by a small group of local animal lovers. It is a Quality of Life shelter. All adult animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption, and receive all necessary shots, wormings and other medical treatments. All dogs are licensed before leaving the shelter. We welcome volunteers (children as well as adults).
We now have a shelter gift/thrift shop on the premises, stocked with donations. It's open Saturdays 12 to 5, and by request. All the proceeds go to our Emergency Medical Fund for the animals' vet bills and medications.
Wish list: canned dog food, no-dye dry dog food, dog treats (especially for the large dogs), leashes and collars, and all types of cleaning materials.
