RescueMe is an all volunteer, NON ADOPTIVE sanctuary for unwanted tropical birds.
Our mission is three fold: to accept homeless members of the psittacine (parrot) species and introduce them to species specific flock life. We offer educational programs aimed at the community in general and usually through the school system. The birds help bring the concept of endangered species into focus for the children; and since they are so social and outgoing, both birds and children enjoy the experience immensely. Rescue Me offers internship programs for students of Botany, Environmental Sciences, Veterinary and Avian Studies, as well as Agricultural students. Finally we assist in raising funds for other small rescues; especially in time of crisis. RescueMe is a tax-exempt non profit corporation as defined in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
