The Humane Society of Hampshire County is a private, non-profit 501C3 corporation dedicated to the prevention of animal neglect through education, spay-neuter assistance, and the operation of a open admission animal shelter. The goal of the shelter is to place pets in permanent, loving homes. All pets are vaccinated and neutered before adoption. Prospective adopters are screened to help ensure that they will provide a responsible and happy home for their new pet.
Our shelter receives no assistance from local government funding and is grateful for financial contributions in any amount. Annual membership is $10 per individual or $20 per family. Other donations can be earmarked for education, spay/neuter, or facility needs.
Volunteers are always needed and appreciated at the shelter or for fundraising or educational activities. We have only two paid staff members and a few dedicated volunteers.
