The KAPS has 50 years of history, founded by the famous Ukrainian poet Maksym Rylskyy. There were good and bad times for the Society, but from year 1999 the rebirth era was marked. KAPS manages one of the biggest Shelter in Ukraine (400 dogs and 150 cats) and provide "Free sterilization campaign" for homeless animals. Unfortunately it has no sponsors and the Shelter survives for money of some enthusiasts and fickle donations from sympathetic people.
It has its own Strategic vision and step-by-step Action plan to solve the problem of homeless animals to offer to the new Government and public for discussion, adopting and implementation. KAPS is open for national and international experience and help and urges for establishing partnership with other organisations operating in the sphere.
