News
(This time of year the animals we have for adoption change almost day by day. Just give us a call or come by to see what we have. The animals will enjoy your visit even if you don't adopt right then!)
Who We Are
(The Keokuk Humane Society cares for the animals and handles adoptions at the Keokuk Animal Shelter. We do extensive education with the local schools and have "photo albums" of our animals in local businesses. We visit nursing homes for pet therapy when time and volunteers permit. Mobile pet visits are also done when requested.)
Adopting a Friend
(Our first step is filling out our adoption application. There is a 24 hour waiting period. The adoption fee is $70.00 which covers first vaccinations, rabies vaccination and altering. A free dog training class is given away to one adopter each six months.)
Volunteering and Donations
(Potential volunteers can contact us at (319) 524-3816/5974. Young adults need to be atleast 13 years of age. Adults are always especially needed. Donations can be sent to Keokuk Humane Society, 249 Carbide Lane, Keokuk, Iowa 52632. In-kind donations are also welcome.
