LOSES AN ANGEL

DEBORAH STEVENSON OSSWALD, 54,
died Sunday, January 13, 2008 after a
long and courageous battle with breast
cancer. Memorial services were held at
St. Mary's Catholic Church located at
155 Market Avenue on Wednesday, January
16 at 10 a.m. Debbie grew up in Salt
Lake City with her loving parents, Bill
and Mary Lee Stevenson, and four
supportive siblings, Donald, Susan,
Cynthia, and Richard. On October 11,
1986, she married the love of her life,
Bob "Oz" Osswald. In her career, she was
highly successful as the creative
director in advertising at AutoZone;
however, her passion was always animal
rescue. She was at the forefront
battling for abandoned, abused and
neglected animals. As a major
contributor to Guardian Angel Pet
Rescue, she was the force behind their
annual fundraising run working
tirelessly for those four-legged friends
who cannot speak for themselves. Debbie
also felt passionately about the fight
to cure breast cancer and participated
annually in the Susan G. Komen Race for
the Cure. Whatever the endeavor, Debbie
always brought tenacity and passion to
what she did, often accomplishing what
seemed impossible. Her strong character,
sense of humor and caring nature defined
who she was and who we all strive to be
now that she is gone. In short, Debbie
loved her husband dearly, often smiling
and rolling her eyes when he made us all
laugh. She also loved her friends and
has always been the rock that kept us
strong. The world is a better place
because of Debbie Osswald, and we will
all miss her. Oz wants to say a special
thank you to the entire staff of the
West Clinic for their love and
compassion throughout Debbie's battle
with cancer and a thank you to all at
Germantown Methodist Hospital for their
support in her final days. In lieu of
flowers, the family requests
contributions to: Guardian Angel Pet

Help us find Mandy!

Mandy escaped from her new home in
Tipton County last month. She was last seen near Kelly
Corner Rd and Hwy 14 (Austin Peay) south of Covington and
east of Brighton running across a field dragging her leash
behind her. Mandy was wearing a red collar with a Guardian
Angel tag. If you see a dog who might be Mandy, please call
the Guardian Angel Hotline at (901) 358-8700.
