2008 / 2009 Middle School
Student Essay Contest
The Parma Animal Shelter is pleased to announce its 2008 / 2009 Middle School Student Essay Contest.
The Essay Contest is open to Parma, Parma Heights, and Seven Hills students in grades 7 and 8.
The topic for the Student Essay Contest is:
Homeless Pets in Crisis: The Problem, The Causes, and The Solutions
Students are encouraged to conduct research into the topic, and to discuss with their families, teachers, and
friends the plight of homeless pets living in their own neighborhoods, and those living in cages in crowded
animal shelters. Students are further encouraged to reflect on what the topic means to them personally, as
well as its implications for our society as a whole. Students are urged to think creatively about solutions
and actions.

Parma Shelter's Calendar of Events 2008!
PET PICTURES WITH SANTA CLAWS on DECEMBER 6th and 7th.. Buy a picture with your pet with Santa Claws at PETsMART, 6870 Ridge Rd, Parma in December from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sales benefit the Parma Animal Shelter.
BORDERS EVENT in Strongsville on Sunday, December 14th from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. PAS volunteers will be
there to wrap your holiday gifts for a donation that will help our shelter animals. Come support our last event of the year and do your holiday shopping at Border's!!
Ozzie's Fund Candy Bar Sale

The proceeds from in-shelter candy bar sales will benefit the Ozzie Fund for sick and injured animals and will help these animals get prompt medical attention by having funds set aside.
Please stop buy the Parma Animal Shelter for some chocolate bars
and help animals with special needs at the same time!

Come and help our Furry Friends!
We need volunteers!!! Volunteers are needed to work with cats and also with dogs.
To volunteer, you must be at least 18 years of age.
If you are interested, stop by the shelter and pick up a volunteer applications,
or download here.
Complete the application and return it to the shelter.
You will be contacted to schedule training.

Visit the shelter during open hours and browse our showcase. We have gifts for just about everyone on your list.
You can also order t-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, and cookbooks.
For the person who has everything, consider making a donation to Parma Animal Shelter, Inc., in that person's name.

You can order one of our T-shirts on line. Just download the order form and mark size and color desired.

Effective March 11, 2007 we only accept the used inkjet cartridges.
We no longer take the larger toner cartridges from copiers and fax machines or old cell phones.

Take a Tour of the
Parma Animal Shelter
The Parma Animal Shelter is now taking reservations for tours of our facility.

Come spend time with the homeless dogs and cats and see the daily care that is given to
our guests. Our tours are educational and fun and we gladly accept groups of all
kinds.
The tours are free, but donations are always welcomed.
