| The purpose of the Fayette County Humane Society is the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, and the extension of humane education. It is the policy of the society to provide humane care and treatment for all animals needing protection in the area served by the society; to seek to return lost animals to their owners; to seek suitable homes for animals without owners; to suggest euthanasia when necessary. No animal under control of the society may be disposed of except as here specifically provided. In its care and disposition of animals, the society shall maintain the minimum standards prescribed by the Humane Society of the United States. |

| We strive to educate the public about how to care for their pets hoping that all animals have adequate food, clean water at all times, warm shelter in the winter, and shade in the summer. Everyone should spay or neuter their dogs and cats unless they are breeders of specific breeds. Abuse or violence should not be tolerated. If you see any type of abuse or neglect, we urge you to call the Police Department (if inside city limits) or the Sheriff's Department (if outside city limits). We do not have any authority to investigate animal abuse. We will accept any stray and homeless animals when space is available and attempt to find good homes for them. |

| The Fayette County Humane Society currently does not have a shelter. We foster our companion animals in our homes. We welcome anyone to our monthly meetings and would love to have more members. Our meetings are the second Sunday of the month at 2:00 pm at Professional Pet Grooming located at 2204 Grand Avenue in Connersville, Indiana. |
