| Did You Know: Just based on the birthrate of animals, the only way there would be enough homes for every animal born would be for every human being in the U.S to own 6 dogs and 9 cats. EACH. So a family of 4 would own 24 dogs and 36 cats. Good enough reason to spay/neuter??? |
| A Change Is Needed.... Pet Solutions believes the answer to our community's pet overpopulation problem is the reduction in unwanted litters of dogs and cats. We do not believe that killing the excess animals is an acceptable method of controlling the pet population. A civilized society should be preventing the unwanted litters of dogs and cats, not killing them after the fact. Our organization's goal is to implement spay/neuter programs, thereby reducing the number of unwanted litters. |
| Spay/Neuter Programs |
| Provides the lowest cost spay/neuter cost we can obtain, using local vets. Fees are based on a sliding scale. Income, family size and number of pets will be considered. |
| Targets the "mothers" of the "free puppies" & "free kittens" ads. We will work with the owners of these dogs, cats & rabbits to get them spayed before they have another litter. |
| Working in conjunction with barn owners, cats residing there will be tested and spayed/ neutered. Unadoptable cats may also be placed at barns following testing and spay/neuter. |
| Stray/Feral cats will be tested, spayed/ neutered, vaccinated and released into a safe area if one is available. If strays are adoptable as pets, we will re-home them. Feline Leukemia/Aids positive cats will have to be euthanized for the safety of the cat population. |
