CAWS Welcome to the World Wide Web home of CAWS, the Community Animal Welfare Society, a no-kill animal rescue organization. Operating in Utah, CAWS' purpose is Working With The Community to Help Animals. To see what CAWS is doing for the community, please visit our About CAWS page. GoodSearch and GoodShop
Here's a new easy way to raise money for CAWS. Just start using GoodSearch.com
as your search engine and online shopping mall. Every time you search the Internet or make an online purchase at one of their partner
merchants, GoodSearch makes a donation to CAWS, and it's powered by Yahoo! so you get great search results!
The Reward of Adopting the Undercat Shy, and withdrawn? Not necessarily! Jumping to conclusions can mean leaping right over hidden treasures. Discover, and enjoy, the wonderful at-home personalities of cats who are scared of adoption event ruckus but are true charmers at home. See The Reward of Adopting the Undercat!
Local Utah Shelter List We've expanded our list of local shelters, rescue organizations and adoption centers. The new and improved list is continually updated, and can be found by clicking here. Thanks to Ember S., a CAWS volunteer, for her work on this project! Last update 07/27/2004 Finding Homes for Pets Due to the current number of animals in our adoption program, including a recent large-scale rescue from a house fire, we are unable to take in any more animals for the short-term, with the exception that we will accept at any time an animal you adopted from CAWS that you need to return. If you have an animal you need to find a new home for, please consult this resource page at Best Friends Animal Society for help in finding a new home for your pet. Thank you.
No More Homeless Pets In Utah
CAWS is a member of the coalition of shelters and rescue groups of
No More Homeless Pets In Utah (NMHP). NMHP is actively working to eliminate the euthanasia of healthy,
adoptable animals in Utah. Join us in meeting this marvelous goal by Making Room for One More and by
promoting spaying/neutering - click on the icon to the right for NMHP sliding income spay/neuter vouchers.
Heard at PETsMART From time to time we hear someone ask in passing, "Will those cats and dogs be put to sleep if they can't find them a home?" Our answer is that, unless the animal is severely ill or injured, any animal we assume responsibility for fostering and placing will stay in the CAWS program until a home is found. No matter how long. Please read our No-Kill Society article on this subject. Donate To CAWS!
You can donate now to the CAWS animals through this
secure link.
Help provide spays/neuters, veterinary care, and foster care that these dogs and cats
would otherwise not receive. CAWS is a volunteer-based organization, spending less
than 4% on general expenses. Also, due to this AOL Foundation link, your donation
by credit card will go directly to helping animals. CAWS' low overhead and the
AOL Foundation together mean your donation will make a real and lasting difference
for animals. They thank you for helping!
