institutions urged to make new animal testing law a priority

Press Release, Nov 4th 2008 The Irish Society for the Prevention on
Cruelty to Animals calls on the European Parliament and the Council to take up
discussions of the long-awaited new directive on animal testing announced today
as a matter of priority. If the new directive is not discussed in Parliament by
the time of the next European elections in June 2009, the legislation risks being

trek through the jungle during World Animal Week
A
dedicated team of 24 ISPCA supporters left Dublin airport on 4th October 2008
for Borneo to participate in the very first ISPCA Charity Challenge. Borneo
is one of the most remote and untouched locations in the world. There is an enormous
amount of wildlife and it is one of only two places in the world where the charismatic
Orangutan is found. There are over 10 species of monkey on the island as well
as an abundant variety of bird and plant life. Read

Volunteering
at the ISPCA National Animal Centre - Give it a Swirl Day
ISPCA Press
Release, Sept 26th 2008 Ireland's national day of volunteering took
place on Friday 26th September aimed to encourage people to get out and get active
in their communities and get into the spirit of volunteering. A local artist
and a group of volunteers offered their time at the Irish Society for the Prevention
of Cruelty to Animals in Co. Longford for the day to create a "cat themed"
mural masterpiece in the ISPCA cattery unit. The ISPCA is delighted with
the result in the cattery and to be part of the Give it a Swirl event. Read
