Poor Tulip

I'm so sad, I lost my home and then I lost my babies. All that I wanted was to be fed properly, have a clean warm bed, and a family to call my own that would love me. Thanks to Richardson Rescue, I now have enough to eat, I'm getting veterinary care and have hope for a forever family. Your donations will help pay the veterinary bills for all of us.

Donation items that are needed!

Our current urgent needs list includes:
M
edications (your dog's left over meds), Large kennels, cedar bedding, beds, donations for spay/neuters, bleach, paper towels, rug shampoo, laundry soap, Pinesol, contract strength garbage bags, heavy duty tarps, rawhide chews, outdoor extension cords, puppy pads or Chux, and puppy food, Frontline, Baby or Puppy wipes. Currently we also need newspaper to line the inside kennels or donations to buy these listed items.

   PATSY
This small Shepherd mix mom came here pregnant and emaciated from a lady who said "The rent man made me get rid of the dogs." She was so underweight that we had to bottle feed some of the babies, she didn't have enough milk to feed them all. She is now healthy and needs a loving forever family that will take good care of her now that her puppies are grown and gone . She will love you forever. Loyal pet!

SCRAPS
Great little 1 1/2 year old Lhasa Apso mix
needs a forever family. Great disposition!

Spike
(Rat Terrier)

Great companion and playmate ready for forever home.

Exciting news
Concerned Citizens for Responsible Pet Ownership will be donating hay for needy families to use in their dog's house to help keep their pet warm this winter. Please watch here for more details about distribution.

        Heartworms
Many adult dogs come to us needing heartworm treatment.
Without treatment these dogs will die a horrible death.
Please donate and sponsor a heartworm positive dog today so that it may
survive and get a forever home.

All donations made to Richardson Rescue are tax deductable.

                                           I rescued a human today.
Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor peering apprehensively into the kennels.
I felt her need instantly and knew I had to help her.
I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid.
As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage.
I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today.
Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want her to think poorly of them.
As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past.
I only have the future to look forward to and want to make
a difference in someone's life.
She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me.
I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her.
Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship.
A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well.
Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms.
I would promise to keep her safe.
I would promise to always be by her side.
I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes.
I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor.
So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors.
So many more to be saved.
At least I could save one.

I rescued a human today.
