Welcome to the King George Animal Rescue League Website!
The King George Animal Rescue League is a non-profit 501c(3) organization providing food, shelter, medical care, and TLC to homeless and abused companion animals in our and surrounding communities. We rely heavily on the enormous efforts of volunteers to raise operating funds necessary for our focus on spaying and neutering and to provide day-to-day support that is needed to promote humane values of protection, care, and compassion for companion animals. We also accept private donations and receive grant aid to further our efforts to reduce pet overpopulation.

Guest writes "KGARL is part of the Potomac Combined Federal Campaign, which includes Dahlgren, Fort AP Hill and Quantico. This is a wonderful opportunity for KGARL to raise much needed funds!
Please don't forget to designate the King George Animal Rescue League (#47944) when you're filling out your CFC forms this year!
Thank you for your help and continued support,
Michele Shipman
President, KGARL"

News: Lost and Found News Article Submissions
|
 |
 |
KGARL is committed to helping the community as much as we can in reuniting stray pets with their families. To this end, we routinely post Lost and Found stories on this site in the hope that it will facilitate that reunion.
Several folks have recently submitted News items for pets they have found without providing any contact information. While many are understandably reluctant to post contact information on a public website, KGARL must have some way of contacting the reporting individual directly in case the article gets a response.
Please include some way of contacting the originator when posting an article using Submit News or the article may not be published. If you do not wish the contact information displayed we can edit it out prior to posting, as all items are reviewed by the staff before they are made public. Simply request this in your post or provide a separate email to the webmaster.
Please read the post linked here for more information on submitting news articles.
Thank you.

bambi writes "Because KGARL does not have a facility or kennel, all dogs and cats are fostered in our homes. Fostering is one of the most important steps in helping a dog/cat transition from homeless pet to member of a family. By living in a home environment, our fosters learn about housetraining,
living peacefully with other pets and family members, and become accustomed to the normal hustle and bustle of family living.
Fostering is not only rewarding, but can be frustrating at times. It's a big commitment, and one we take seriously. Many fosterers have gone on to adopt the pets they are fostering, but that's certainly not required! :)
If you are ready for a very rewarding experience and would like to foster, please contact KGARL at info@kgarl.org. You'll be glad you did!
