New Year’s Eve Pet
Safety Tips
Before you begin your New Year’s Eve
festivities, please take a few minutes to make sure it will be a happy and
safe New Year for your pets.
Keep your pets secure
inside your house
Limit your pets' exposure to the potentially panic-inducing sights
and sounds of New Year’s Eve. Keep them in a quiet room with food, water,
toys and even a pillow case or shirt with your comforting scent. If you are
hosting an event at your home, it is even more important that your pets have
their own safe room during the event.
Make sure your pets are
wearing current identification
Did you remember to update your pet’s license this year? Is your
pet’s ID tag current? Is the information from your pet’s microchip up to
date? And most importantly, is your pet wearing that identification or
license tag? If the answer is no, you still have time to make sure your
pet’s information is up to date before the festivities begin. Even if you
take all the necessary steps to make sure your pets are safe and secure
inside, accidents can happen. If your pet does happen to get out on New
Year’s Eve, proper identification is your best chance for a speedy recovery
of your furry friend.
If your pet does become
lost, please follow our list of suggestions
for finding your pet.
Have a Happy and Safe New Year!
